Though Eid-ul-Azha (Bakhrid) is not as lucrative a phase as Eid-ul-Fitr (Meethi Eid) or Diwali, still the makers of the Akshay Kumar starrer, BOSS, chose the occasion for releasing their Anthony D’Souza directed venture. And the gamble seems to have paid off!

As per reliable trade sources, BOSS is doing superbly at the single screens (80-100 percent), though the multiplexes are not on the same level (40-60 percent). Coming to the numbers, during the opening day (Wednesday) BOSS netted around 13 crores, and as Thursday was a working day, the collections dropped to 7-8 crore. With the first two days yielding 21crores plus and with the weekend still to commence, BOSS seems to be heading towards a plus zone for sure.

Even in the overseas, BOSS has grossed ?110,000 from UK and AED1, 600,000 from the Emirates during the two opening days (Tuesday and Wednesday). And with holidays till Saturday in the Gulf region, and the regular weekend commencing in the UK and US, BOSS seems to be on a profitable course!
