One Up Entertainment's GALI GALI CHOR HAI directed by famous screenplay writer-turned-director, Rumi Jaffery releases today, and this is his second outing as a director after Salman Khan's GOD TUSSI GREAT HO.
Starring a not-so-hot at the box-office actor, Akshaye Khanna, the film can still manage to spring a surprise and emerge a success and we will list the reasons for our belief.
First and foremost, the film is very topical and deals with the subject of corruption. It is cinema with a cause and the issue of corruption has been plaguing the society since time immemorial and the fight against corruption has just recently hottened up with the common man taking to the streets.
And so the audience will easily identify and relate to the story and the film.
Secondly most of the films in the past based on the issue of corruption have been a success and there are numerous examples. Neeraj Pandey's A WEDNESDAY, Nana Patekar's KRANTIVEER, Mahesh Bhatt's SAARANSH and Naseeruddin Shah's JAANE BHI DO YAARON are some outstanding and memorable films which dealt with the issue in different ways and all these above mentioned films were a patronized by the cine-goers in a big way and are still all time favourites of many.
Last but not the least, as we have mentioned in our box office-report, GALI GALI GALI CHOR HAI, is a low budgeted film and since the makers have promoted the film in just the right manner, the audience knows what to expect from the film, and even if it gets a decent initial and a positive feedback, the film will sail through to safety zone.
