Horror films in Hindi cinema are finally coming of age. Gone are the days of horrible faces, grotesque make up, dripping blood and other stereotypes related to the genre.
In fact earlier this year, we saw Suparn Verma coming up with a creditable and different, AATMA, boasting of stellar performances from class actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bipasha Basu. And now we will see another good actor, Chandan Roy Sanyal (fresh from a super cameo in D-DAY) in PRAGUE, which once again tries something different.
When we caught up with Chandan and asked him if PRAGUE was India's answer to the Hollywood cult horror series, PARANORMAL ACTIVITY (as is the general belief), the unassuming actor replied in the negative saying, "No not at all! PRAGUE is not like PARANORMAL ACTIVITY. It is basically a psychological thriller which has been shot extensively in Prague, and I have already told you the reason for that. When you see the film, you will realize that something like this has been tried for the first time in Hindi cinema. Ashish has done a good job.''
The Ashish Shukla directed PRAGUE starring Chandan Roy Sanyal and Elena Kazan releases this Friday.
