It is perhaps the YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI effect but Deepika Padukone is blissfully oblivious to all the brouhaha surrounding the arrival of CHENNAI EXPRESS and ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI DOBARA. While the arrival of two films this August is keenly awaited, Deepika is not participating in any conversations that border around this topic.
''Why should she,'' says a friend of the actress, ''Her own YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI is doing so well and is all set to be the third highest biggest film ever at the least. For her it's a personal achievement as she is now giving direct competition to Kareena Kapoor (3 IDIOTS) and Katrina Kaif (EK THA TIGER) whose films are sitting at the very top. She is on the verge of winning her own battle and as for the war, she would rather have Shahrukh Khan and Akshay Kumar fight it out amongst themselves.''
No wonder, even though the world is talking about the promo launch of CHENNAI EXPRESS, which has started creating quite some frenzy already, Deepika is rightfully staying away from all the mayhem.
''Well, who says what and who does what is something that I am not even interested in hearing for now. In any case I am the last person to get into such conversations. As for the so-called war between CHENNAI EXPRESS and ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI DOBARA then well, I am absolutely clueless about it,'' says Deepika with that dimpled smile of hers.
Though she has been informed about some big plans centered on marketing and promotion of her film with Rohit Shetty, she is opting to 'just go with the flow'.
''When you have Shahrukh and Rohit around to do all the thinking, I should better just surrender to what they are doing. They know exactly what they are doing and I will follow to whatever they ask me to do. I have no plans of my own,'' she says.
