For Deepika Padukone, the current phase is indeed turning out to be a great going for her. From being ultra-chic and glamorous in films like RACE 2 and YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI, she is turning into a 'desi girl' for CHENNAI EXPRESS and RAM LEELA.
"Yes, I would be carrying different personas right through the year. It is good if makers can visualise me in different avatar rather than stereotyping me to portray only one kind of character or look. Then there is KOCHADAIYAAN as well which is in complete contrast. It is fun to be switching over from one film to another and that should also keep me occupied for most part of the year. This is the reason why I have not signed anything new as of now and there is nothing in the pipeline either. I have my hands full. Five films in one year is a good enough load,'' says Deepika.
This is the reason why she is more than happy with the way work is taking her forward in her career.
'And the best part is that the films that have come to me are not my choices; these are the ones that have come to me,'' she says, 'It is fabulous to be a part of such big films because I know that it is eventually my hard work that would lead to good things coming out of me. Whatever else follows, it would be organically. These are not the things that I think about much. Like for example RACE 2 doing well is not something that I had consciously thought about but it turned out to be huge.'
