The prominent new releases of the week, DILLIWAALI ZAALIM GIRLFRIEND and HUNTERRR as also DOZAKH A SEARCH FOR HEAVEN, embarked on a dull to ordinary start as the audience gave preference to the one week old NH10.

Comparatively speaking, Japinder Kaur’s DILLIWAALI ZAALIM GIRLFRIEND lead from the front (15-20 percent start) with HUNTERRR in hot pursuit. The third release, DOZAKH, saw only a limited patronage.
Meanwhile, after a creditable opening weekend (13.50 crore), Anushka Sharma’s debut production venture, NH10, maintained very well during the weekdays as well, netting nearly 21 crore during the first week. The moderately budgeted NH 10 continues the welcome trend set by women centric successes like MARY KOM and MARDAANI.
Concluding with Yash Raj Films’ Ayushmann Khurrana starrer, DUM LAGA KE HAISHA, the film saw another decent week and has thus far netted in excess of 25 crore in three weeks from India, and is the first clean hit of 2015, given the economics, about which we have already talked time and again.
