Wave Group Chairman Dr Raju Chadha was presented with the Minaar-E-Dilli (Pillar of Delhi) Award for his contribution to Indian cinema at the sixth edition of the Delhi International Film Festival.
The sixth edition of the Delhi International Film Festival was inaugurated at the Central Park Cannaught Place in the capital city by paying homage to veteran actor Shashi Kapoor in the presence of senior Government functionaries, diplomats & media.
Wave Group Chairman Dr. Raju Chadha was presented with the Minaar-E-Dilli (Pillar of Delhi) Award for his contribution to Indian cinema on this occasion.
While speaking at the festival Dr. Chadha lauded the efforts of Indian filmmakers for taking Indian cinema across the world and urged them to showcase Indian heritage & culture with more gusto while pledging to continue to making entertaining cinema, backed with good content.
Other guests of honour included Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Government of India Sudarshan Bhagat, award winning filmmakers Tigmanshu Dhulia & Rahul Mittra, imminent singer Malini Awasthi, Ambassadors of various countries, Festival President Ram Kishore Parcha, apart from a host of other personalities.
Organized by The Social Circle, the weeklong fest will showcase 174 films, 200 art works with participation of 54 countries across the globe.
