Salman Khan may well have made Eid his own, what with three blockbusters already to his name, most recent being EK THA TIGER. However Emraan Hashmi, who is pretty much finding his own way with the masses on a continued note (and even Salman's acknowledgment as the most underrated segment) is aiming at making 'Bakri-Eid' his own. His RUSH has now been pulled back by a couple of days and would now release on the festive occasion.
"Yes, the film would release on Wednesday now," confirms a source, "Emraan's popularity amongst masses, especially the Muslim audience, can't be discounted anymore. How many more hits does he have to deliver before the fact is accepted that he is one of the most consistent young stars around? His films are taking good opening on a regular basis and RAAZ 3 is already a superhit. The makers of RUSH have all the right reasons to benefit from his successes and hence the call has been taken to release it mid-week."
This also means that the festival would now see a three way clash between RUSH, CHAKRAVYUH and AJAB GAZABB LOVE.
"Each of the three films belongs to different genres and has been made at varied budget. It isn't like a Diwali clash between JAB TAK HAI JAAN and SON OF SARDAAR, both of which are hugely budgeted films. Of course a little more breathing space would have helped but as of now, it is going to be a clash between Emraan, Arjun/Abhay/Manoj and Jackky," the source continues.
Though it is yet to be seen whether this 'rush' ends up clearing, what is definitely sure is that Emraan isn't considering any change in plans.
