After announcing the trilingual, HAATHI MERE SAATHI last year, Eros International’s forthcoming animal drama featuring Rana Daggubati, Pulkit Samrat, Vishnu Vishal, Zoya Hussein and Kalki Koechlin has completed its second schedule. The movie is titled KAADAN in Tamil and Aranya in Telugu.
Helmed by acclaimed director Prabhu Solomon, the trilingual is being shot simultaneously in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil with a different cast across languages. The movie highlighting man-animal relationship is a unique story inspired by true events and a fitting tribute to yesteryear classic, HAATHI MERE SAATHI(1971) starring Rajesh Khanna and Tanuja.
While Rana, Zoya and Kalki feature in all the three language films, Pulkit’s character will be portrayed by popular south actor Vishnu Vishal (Bale Pandiya, Drohi, Jeeva and Indru Netru Naalai fame) in the Tamil and Telugu versions along with actor Raghu Babu. The music has been composed by Shantanu Moitra and sound designed by Resul Pookutty.
Interestingly, Rana attended an extensive workshop for 50 days in Thailand to gain a deeper understanding of the nuances of elephants and has also shed almost 15kg for his character. The film is mounted on a huge scale with never-seen-before visual effects this genre is being shot extensively at real locations in Thailand and Kerala.
Commenting on the progress of HAATHI MERE SAATHI, Sunil Lulla, Managing Director, Eros International said, “HAATHI MERE SAATHI is a true-blue animal film signifying a deep and strong bond between humans and animals. It’s an ambitious project and the shoot is developing well. Director Prabhu Solomon added, “The movie brings me back to one of my favorite subjects – elephants and shooting with them along with my artists in the wild has been a fascinating adventure that we are very excited to share with the audience”.
