Palak Muchhal:
Celebration of World Music day
We have a special song for World Music Day, an initiative by 9XM, where various singers have collaborated. The song has been composed by Rohchak Kohli (Paani Da Rang fame). It's a single fun song, rendered by different singers in their respective style. It's not a mash-up. It's about spreading happiness because music has that power.

Further, I will be jamming with my brother and will try singing some amazing songs. For me every day is a Music Day.

Contribution:
We (my brother and I) are already contributing by performing for heart patients and raising funds for them.

All-time favourite singer
My all-time favourite is Lata Mangeshkar

Indian music different from World's music
Indian music is way different. Every state is filled with rich folk music. Classical music is variety of India which makes it stand apart.

Neeti Mohan:
Celebration of World Music day
I'm a part of a music anthem titled 'Music Dil Mein'. It is composed by Rochak Kohli of 'Pani Da Rang' fame. Lots of singers have shot for it way in advance so that it releases on World Music Day. It is a beautiful song which talks about passion we all have for music. To me, music is something I need all the time. It is oxygen for me.

Contribution:
I want to do as much collaborations as possible – National, International and Regional. I also want to work with different artistes so that I get to explore myself.

Indian music different from World's music
Indian music is very old and scientific. Each raag we sing is according to time and mood. It is scientific, ancient, old, and therapeutic. The detailing you get to learn in Indian music is amazing. I feel if you learn Indian music, you can learn any form of music in the world.

Ankit Tiwari:
Celebration of World Music day
I am loaded with lots of work. I'll be mostly busy with musical compositions of my upcoming films like YAARA, a Tigmanshu Dhulia film, KHAMOSHIYAAN, Vishesh Films, an unnamed film, a song for Himesh Reshammiya in ALL IS WELL. Working on my projects is something really special and that's how I will celebrate.

Contribution:
I am still a nascent student and have just started. I want to do best of the best music for fans and audiences with all the justification towards the music industry… But I do have plans, especially, with my brother. Since we come from a musical family and my mom is also a singer we might come up with a music school or something like that. So whatever I have gained I want to give it back to the society.

All-time favourite singer
Everyone is good in their own space. It's very difficult to choose but still I think Kishore Da's voice attracts. I am a big fan of Kishore Da, Ricky Martin, Enrique and Lata Mangeshkar ji. In fact the entire world is a fan of the names that I mentioned.

Indian music different from World's music
I think the classical elements and the ragas are the unique thing which you can't find outside India. Indian music and ragas have the power to touch emotional chords. I think that is how our Indian music is different from that of western.

Shruti Pathak:
Celebration of World Music day
It's going to be very special because this time around we have done a music video which features 13 singers and musicians of today's generation, the best of the lot and that is the music video created by 9XM, by Rohchak Kohli.

Contribution:
Yes there is definitely a plan. I just don't want create any institute where people will learn the music. I want to open an institute where I can treat mentally challenged people with music therapy. So I want to encourage and support music therapy for healing purposes and that's something I want to do. But there is still lot of time for it.

All-time favourite singer
There are a lot of them but I am a diehard fan of Gulzar Sahab. Not just his voce but his writing, poetry, I am crazy about him! In fact that is one of the reasons that I formed GUZZLARS, my band which is about ghazals, which is about reinventing ghazals with a contemporary sound. That project is very close to my heart because ghazals are strong lyrical content. It was my brainchild. When I thought of doing something for myself it was ghazals. And now am taking that to Radio which will start airing from 6th July.

Indian music different from World's music
Its different because India is a vast country. It has so many states, so many regions, so many cultures and folk music so that makes India very strong in terms of content…itna vareirty kahan milega. There's no scarcity of talent in India.

Palaash Muchhal:
Celebration of World Music day
I would be inviting my guitarist friends for jamming session. I might compose couple of songs and will plan for future.

Contribution:
I want and am trying my bit to bring back the Golden era magic. An era which was dominated by legends like Kishore Kumar…And I think in a way after AASHIQUI 2 the old world charm is slowly back. I have also tried in the upcoming film AMIT KI SAHNI KI LIST, where I have composed a song 'What The Fark?', which has electronic dance music. It has tabla and dubstep music.

All-time favourite singer
I really admire Sonu Nigam and David Guetta. I even recorded with Sonu Nigam.

Indian music different from World's music
I don't think there's not much difference. We are quite lucky actually. In India, films work because of music. Music is the backbone of Bollywood.

Shivi Kashyap:
Celebration of World Music day
I will be recording one of my songs for DILPHIREY and maybe I would like to do a cover and put it on the video sharing platform for my fans. In the past I have done for Vishal and Shekhar as I am their huge fan or may be throw some different composition of mine.

Contribution:
I just want introduce new music, something which the industry hasn't heard.

All-time favourite singer
A R Rahman, Lata Mangeshkar ji. I am a huge fan of Micheal Jackson, Celine Dion, Bruno Mars, John Mayer.

Indian music different from World's music
It is different because you know how our country is so rich in folk music, its originality and culture.

Divya Kumar:
Celebration of World Music day
I celebrate music every day. The only difference is that the entire World will celebrate music. I am going to have a working World Music Day.

Contribution
I want to sing more songs and I wish to entertain people. And if people are happy with that, then this will be my contribution to music. Music is the most important thing in everybody's life.

Indian music different from World's music
These days I don't see much of Indian music happening. We have been influenced a lot by the West. But there are some musicians, singers and composers, who are still rooted to Indian music. Anyway, Indian is the most rich and cultured in the Music world.

Monali Thakur:
Celebration of World Music day
I will be busy with the recordings of the upcoming films. Every single day is Music day for me. I celebrate it every moment. I cannot survive without listening to music.

Contribution
I want our country should have more independent music. Besides film's music, we also need more number of singles. This encourages and gives the freedom to the singers to have their own compositions, write and render the way they want, like how it happens in abroad. I want Independent music happening on larger scale, because many musicians don't get their due even being part of the big albums and films. I want to take Indian music to shine globally.

All-time favourite singer
I like the voice of my elder sister Mehuli Goswami Thakur (she is one of the finest singer) and my guruji Pt. Jagdish Prasad. I admire their voice a lot.

Indian music different from World's music
The variety of Indian music is ridiculously good!!! It has different forms of folk music, filled with different languages which make India stand rich. Our culture has been music. I don't think any country has particularly has it.

Rahul Vaidya:
Celebration of World Music day
For me every day is World Music Day because I am a musician and I end up doing music without any reason. Nothing special I am doing today, because I don't believe in celebrating a single day for music.

Contribution:
I want to make some nice music, which gives me some happiness and makes my fans smile.

Mohammad Irfan:
Mithoon's first concert is happening in Abu Dhabi just one day before World Music Day, so there's nothing better than that. It is a great sign. Now Mithoon has entered into live shows. So looking forward to the concert and ring in the World Music Day.

My contribution: I just want to sing more songs and entertain all. That will be my contribution.
