Kirti Kulhari has been part of various films starting from KHICHDI which was a comedy film which she went on to do SHAITAAN and got accolades for her role in PINK. She will now be seen in Madhur Bhandarkar’s INDU SARKAR which depicts the story of emergency and the time people were battling it.
Kirti plays a fictional character ‘Indu Sarkar’, who stammers, is a poetess, wants a simple life but becomes the voice of the nation when there is an alarming threat to the country.
As the film demanded a lot of research work and workshop as its 70 percent fiction she went on for rigorous training.
During exclusive media interactions when asked Kirti about her choice of films and what made her take up such a powerful role she went to say, “I liked the role and character a lot. This film is based on facts and extensive research has been put before we shot. There is a reason why I stammer in the film and for that I met speech therapist, psychologist it was required that my character stammers.”
