The prominent new domestic release of the week, T-Series’ Sonakshi Sinha’s KHANDAANI SHAFAKHANA, could not quite make a mark at the box-office with an occupancy of around 10 percent. In fact expectedly it was Hollywood’s FAST & FURIOUS : HOBBS & SHAW (dubbed) which dominated the show with an occupancy of around 35 percent, but a much better performance was expected as F & F is a very popular franchise. It is thus obvious that Hollywood will comprehensively dominate Bollywood yet again, as we await the final outcome.
Meanwhile the two major releases of last week, Balaji Motion Pictures’ Kangana Ranaut-Rajkummar Rao starrer JUDGEMENTALL HAI KYA and T-Series’ Diljit Dosanjh-Kriti Sanon spoof ARJUN PATIALA, did not find much favour from the audience. Having said that JUDGEMENTALL HAI KYA (28 crore) dominated ARJUN PATIALA (7 crore) comprehensively during the opening week, but it is still not good enough.
In fact it was Hollywood’s animated THE LION KING (dubbed), which dominated the week’s proceedings, adding another 44 crore, thus netting 126 crore (to be validated) in two weeks from India and will end up as a super hit.
Concluding with Nadiadwala Grandsons & Reliance Entertainment’s Vikas Bahl directed Hrithik Roshan starrer, SUPER 30, the film saw another good 18 crore week, thus netting 132 crore (to be validated) in three weeks from India and is a hit plus.
