Eduardo Verchez García was a Filipino actor, television personality, film director and producer. He is widely regarded in his native Philippines as the "greatest Filipino actor of all-time".
Garcia's best regarded works as an actor and director include Beast of the Yellow Night (1971), The Woman Hunt (1972), Magdusa Ka (1986), The Debut (2000), Abakada… Ina (2001), and Bwakaw (2012). Later in his career, he starred in television programs such as Little Nanay (2015–2016) and Ang Probinsyano (2016–2019).
He lived a relatively simple life without any luxury cars and expensive equipment.
In one of the interviews he said "I never dreamed to be an actor, I always wanted to be a soldier." Eddie Garcia's Motto was "What you could do today , you do it now, So you could do something else tomorrow." He also said "I am a one woman man. Woman should be worshipped, Having many love affair is a headache and waste of time, lying and cheating." "I only set Goals that can be achieved."
In a Live theatre on the opening day an old woman attacked him with an umbrella as in the film his character raped actress Gloria Romero, he did not react but took as an appreciation as done "a good job."
Eddie Garcia shall be missed forever may his soul rest in peace.
