Bollywood filmmakers seem to be very concerned with women's hygiene issues these days. After the announcement of PADMAN starring Akshay Kumar and Radhika Apte, here’s yet another film based on the same issue.
PHULLU starring Sharib Hashmi of FILMISTAN fame is the story of a man from a rural area who strives very hard to provide basic sanitary napkins to the women of his village.
Though it’s a sort of taboo thing on a man’s part to look into such things still Phullu (Sharib Hashmi) is adamant about providing pads to the girls and women of his village.

When we asked Sharib if this film is similar to R Balki’s PADMAN, he replied, “Balki’s film is a biographical one while ours is inspired from true stories. Both the films’ story revolves around menstrual hygiene and I think that’s the only similarity between these films nothing else.”
PHULLU will hit the silver screens on June 16.
