Every big budgeted, huge star cast film is embroiled in some sort of a controversy or the other. The same holds true for Rakesh Roshan's much anticipated, magnum opus, KRRISH 3, the follow up to his highly successful KRRISH series. Though this time the controversy is of a different kind and is related to its release date.
It was clear from quite some time that the Hrithik Roshan, Vivek Oberoi, and Priyanka Chopra starring, KRRISH 3, would release during the auspicious and bountiful festive period of Diwali. But what came as a real surprise to all was the date chosen by FilmKraft to release KRRISH 3, as producer-director Rakesh Roshan, decided to release his film on Monday, November 4, instead of Friday, November 1 (Diwali).
Rakesh Roshan's over-cautious approach stems from the fact that the Pre-Diwali and Diwali days are dull and most people (especially womenfolk) do not venture out due to the hectic puja (especially Lakshmi puja) preparations.
However, what must also be kept in mind is that if KRRISH 3 releases on Monday (4th Nov), instead of 1st, it is likely to lose out on an extremely fruitful period, and that its weekend (Nov 8 to Nov 10) will start only after the first five days. And that might prove detrimental for the film as the revenue generated during that period may not be in the same proportion/level.
Even trade experts and many distributors are of the view that a film like KRRISH 3 can overcome all hurdles and pull in the crowd, even during the dull pre-Diwali and Diwali days, and are trying to persuade the Roshans to release the film on Friday the 1st of November. And we too tend to agree with them.
Here's hoping that KRRISH 3 chooses the best possible release date for embarking on a predictable humungous start.
