The major release of the week, Dharma Productions’ Varun- Alia starrer, HUMPTY SHARMA KI DULHANIA, saw a good start in North India (Delhi- NCR & East Punjab), but the Mumbai-Maharashtra belt was not as generous, and the opening can be termed as decent.

What must be noted is that it was Riteish Vilasrao Deshmukh’s Marathi venture, LAI BHAARI, which hit HSKD hard in the western circuits with a super performance. Having said that HSKD is expected to grab a good weekend haul, based on family patronage and positive word-of-mouth.
Meanwhile last week’s two releases, Vidya Balan’s BOBBY JASOOS and EROS International and Illuminati Films’ LEKAR HUM DEEWANA DIL, were rejected. It was obviously BOBBY JASOOS which was the front runner by a long shot netting 11 crore plus while LHDD was a washout with just 3 crore, both during the opening week.
Concluding with Mohit Suri’s Riteish Deshmukh, Shraddha Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra starrer, EK VILLAIN, the film fell heavily during the second week with around 22 crore, thus netting 97 crore (to be validated) in two weeks from India and is a super hit.
