Contemporary Bollywood beauties Deepika Padukone & Kangana Ranaut have definitely set a certain standard for the actresses. Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez too feels that they have made it difficult for the other actresses as they need to keep up with that.
At an interview, when asked Jacqueline if she had second thoughts about playing a mother on screen for the first time in BROTHERS, she affirmed, “Yes there was, for sure. I think all of us have that hesitation when it comes to playing anyone older, playing a mother because we’re worried about the perception or effect it would have on our audiences but I think to some extent, a lot of people are breaking free from that.”
“Even with the kind of movie choices that Deepika (Padukone) is making now being the top actress, the kind of stuff Kangana (Ranaut) is making, they have actually created a certain standard for all the actresses and they’ve actually made it very difficult for us because now we know that the audiences has got a taste of certain performances from top actresses and we need to keep up with that.
So, I was pretty selfish when told that Dharma would present me in the right way and even it being quite an unconventional role, I was in safe hands,” she further said.
We agree with you when you say that they have set a certain standard, Jacqueline, but we also believe that you can definitely match up to it.
