Karan Johar continues to enjoy a terrific year in the world of movies, both critically as well as commercially. If 2 STATES has been yet another 100 crore affair for Dharma Productions, HASEE TOH PHASEE was a decent success too. Now his HUMPTY SHARMA KI DULHANIYA has been declared a hit in its first weekend itself.

What also makes his three films special is the fact that they feature his ‘students’ Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt, each of whom has now managed to find a good footing in Bollywood. More so, since they have managed to achieve a success each outside Dharma too, what with EK VILLAIN turning out to be a blockbuster, MAIN TERA HERO a good success and HIGHWAY continuing to gain critical acclaim.
“Of course I am proud of Varun, Sidharth and Alia,” exclaims Karan, “They have been doing so well consistently and the maturity in their performances is further gladdening. I carried good conviction on them all through and I am glad that audience as well as film fraternity at large is acknowledging their talent.”

While one waits to see Karan wearing the director’s hat again, one also awaits to see when he brings the three actors on screen for a film of his. Meanwhile, HUMPTY SHARMA KI DULHANIYA continues to find audience all over and also marks the arrival of yet another director from the Dharma stable, Shashank Khaitan, who has managed to make a solid mark in his first attempt itself.
Guess this is another student who has passed with flying colors indeed.
