Well, most of the nascent box office experts were not giving much of a chance to this week’s premier release, Anil Kapoor Film Company and Balaji Telefilms Ltd’s Kareena, Sonam, Swara and Shikha starrer VEERE DI WEDDING. However we were expecting a decent start for the film but it managed to surpass our expectations, embarking on a 35 percent start on an average, which is the third best of the year behind BAAGHI 2 and PADMAAVAT, need we say more?
The first day is expected to be in an amazing 10-11 crore range!
As far as the other new releases are a concerned, it was just the Vikramaditya Motwane directed Harshvardhan Kapoor venture, BHAVESH JOSHI SUPERHERO, which saw a fair start of around 15 percent.
Meanwhile, last Friday’s John Abraham starrer, PARMANU-THE STORY OF POKHRAN, maintained very well during the first week, netting 35 crore (to be validated), which is John’s best (solo), beating MADRAS CAFE (32 crore). The film has still to maintain, to be termed as a good success.
