The most controversial trailer wherein the CBFC refused to certify LIPSTICK UNDER MY BURKHA as they found it too bold and sassy with cuss words to release, is finally out. The film has won 11 International Awards. However the hardest battle Alankrita Shrivastava, the director, faced was to certify the trailer and film.
After the on-going battle with CBFC from December to June 3, finally the film was certified with ‘A’ as well as the trailer.
The trailer breaks all the barriers and it’s bold and shows true emotions of females in a patriarchal society, which has been overpowering.
The film not only shows female sexual desires of women of all age groups but also shows how they battle it out in a male dominant society. The film shows lives of 4 women and how they overcome it.
The film explicitly shows human emotions and usage of words like Condom, sex and many more is shown in a casual way. Like the title, the content is hard-hitting but it dealt in a humourous way, while poster & the title has a very intense & stark impression.
Since the film was involved in a long battle with CBFC, the trailer is also edited taking digs at Censor Board right from the beginning.
The film is backed by Ekta Kapoor Head honcho of Balaji Telefilms. LIPSTICK UNDER MY BURKHA releases on 21 July.
