This week saw two diverse releases, Vikramaditya Motwane's LOOTERA and the K.S. Ravikumar directed, POLICEGIRI.
While LOOTERA saw a decent 40 percent start at the multiplexes (picked up at high end multiplexes during the latter shows), POLICEGIRI was fair at around 30-35 percent at the single screens.
With good reviews and somewhat positive response to the Ranveer Singh, Sonakshi Sinha and Adil Hussain starrer, LOOTERA, the film is expected to accumulate a healthy weekend total.
The other release of the week, T.P Aggarwal's POLICEGIRI banks on the mass appeal of Sanjay Dutt at the single screens and massy centers and is likely to score decently at the mass belt during the opening weekend.
Meanwhile last Friday's Emraan-Vidya starrer, GHANCHAKKAR, saw a dull opening week netting 29-30 crore (to be validated) from India. The film will now have to rely on non-theatrical rights for recovery.
