This Friday saw the release of David Dhawan's MAIN TERA HERO along with Girish Malik's JAL.
As expected, it was the Dhawan Jr., Ileana and Nargis starrer, MAIN TERA HERO, which saw an impressive start in the range of 30-35 percent (in the morning) which even touched 40-45 percent at some places during the latter shows. Given the by and large positive feedback and the high entertainment quotient, David Dhawan ishtyle, it is the Dhawan & Dhawan film which is likely to emerge a winner in the coming days.
The other release of the week, the Mukul, Purab, Tannishtha and Kirti starrer JAL did receive some critical acclaim but unfortunately the same could not translate into box-office returns. Having said that, JAL is expected to do well at select high end multiplexes.
Meanwhile from the three releases of last week, Shilpa Shetty's DISHKIYAOON, the Vashu Bhagnani's project YOUNGISTAAN and the Atul-Alvira venture, O TERI, it was just the Syed Ahmad Afzal directed YOUNGISTAAN which saw reasonable collections in the range of 9-10 crore (to be validated), during the opening week from India.
