Just as expected, from the bunched releases of this week it was just T Series’ Siddharth-Ritesh’s MARJAAVAAN and the Nawazuddin-Athiya starrer MOTICHOOR CHAKNACHOOR that made some sort of a mark at the box-office.
Having said that, MARJAAVAAN was way ahead of MOTICHOOR CHAKNACHOOR, as it opened to a good to decent 30 percent start, with the single screens being much better.
In fact, MOTICHOOR CHAKNACHOOR could not even cross the 10 percent mark, except at a hand full of cinemas in Western UP. It is obvious that from the two MARJAAVAAN (Ist day around 7 crores) is all set for a good weekend haul and may earn a success tag, depending on the weekdays run.
Meanwhile, the Amar Kaushik directed Ayushmann Khurrana starrer BALA saw a good opening week netting in excess of 70 crores from India and is already a hit and all set for a decent second-weekend haul. The second Friday is estimated to be around the 4 crore mark.
Coming to the Diwali release, Fox Star Studios & Sajid Nadiadwala’s HOUSEFULL 4, starring Akshay, Bobby, Riteish, Kriti and Rana, the film added another 16 crores thus netting 202 crores in three weeks from India and is a super hit, as also Akki’s biggest going past, MISSION MANGAL.
