Tu Hindu Banega Na Musalman Banegaa;
Insaan Ki Aulad Hai Insaan Banega……
This super hit song defining humanity suits to the ‘T’ to describe the nobility, compassion and the kindness of versatile playback singer Mohammed Rafi. While volumes have been written about his greatness as a singer par excellence, little is spoken about his earthy nature and distinction as a true ‘Insaan’!

Speaking about Mohd. Rafi eminent film lyricist Anand Bakshi in an interview said, “I shall remain always grateful to Rafi Sahab because while I was struggling, it was Rafi Sahab’s golden voice that made me a star lyricist after he sung my songs in JAB JAB PHOOL KHILE. After that I never had to look back and together we gave many super hit films.”
Speaking about his humane side he said, “Rafi was a golden hearted person. Once I was in dilemma because when I purchased a house in Bandra (Mumbai) I had hard time getting admission for my son Rakesh. As I sat gloomy Rafi Sahab kept his hand on my shoulder and asked the reason of my agony. I opened my heart.”
He added, “Listening to my problem he gave a warm smile and asked me to accompany him next day to a famous school in Bandra along with my son. I was delighted.”
Bakshi informed that when they reached the school the next day, the school principal on seeing Rafi Sahab bowed in reverence and immediately granted admission to his son.
“As we bid adieu from school the principal requested Rafi Sahab to bless the school by singing a song on the school’s microphone, Rafi Sahab obliged obediently. Watching his compassion for everyone left me wonderstruck! Truly people like Rafi Sahab are born once in a life time!” recollected Anand Baksi.
