With Ganesh Acharya’s HEY BRO having been postponed at the eleventh hour, there were just two new releases this week, Yash Raj Films’ DUM LAGA KE HAISHA and the Nana Patekar starrer, AB TAK CHHAPPAN 2. As expected and predicted, it was the Nawaz-Varun starrer BADLAPUR, which remained the first choice of the audience, even on the second Friday.

As far as the two new releases are concerned, neither DUM LAGA KE HAISHA nor AB TAK CHHAPPAN 2 made any impact whatsoever at the box-office, barely managing a 10-12 per cent start on an average. Comparatively speaking, of the two, a better weekend will accrue for the YRF venture.
Coming back to the Sriram Raghavan directed, BADLAPUR, the film managed nearly 38 crore during the opening week from India. The reasonably budgeted BADLAPUR is already a rare success of 2015, and it will be interesting to see if it will emerge as the first clean hit of the year. And given the quite strong second Friday, chances are that it will, fingers crossed!
