Ajay Devgn will be seen in Nishikant Kamath’s DRISHYAM, which releases this week. From the trailer it seems, it is a rather different film which emphasises on script and performances. The film is a Hindi remake of the 2013 Malayalam film DRISHYAM which starred Mohanlal in the lead.

Ask the director how he decided to cast Ajay and he says, “It was very simple actually. I wanted a hero who was in his mid-forties with two kids. So my list was already very short. And even in that I needed someone with intense eyes. So the obvious choice was Ajay. He has not played something like this in a very long time. He was doing mainly action films. Here was a character who doesn’t even slap anyone in the entire film. So he also liked the idea of playing a different character and came on board.”

It’ll indeed be a refreshing change to see Ajay in a film which is not typically comedy or action – genres in which we have seen him so many times that we’ve lost count.
