With his latest release, OMG OH MY GOD!, on way to being a huge success, Akshay Kumar has proved once again that his films are in no way affected by big cricket tournaments.
As is known to most who follow cricket that Akshay Kumar's OMG released during the fourth ICC Twenty20 World Cup, and there is this general belief amongst trade and distributors, and even amongst big filmmakers that the collections of the films released during such popular cricket tournaments are bound to get affected.
However, Akshay has always defied cricket and this time too he has emerged the biggest 'Khiladi' with his OMG already on way to a super hit status, netting nearly 50 crores in 10-days from India. And thus 'Khiladi' has completed a hat trick of wins against one of India's passion, cricket!
Confused? Well, for all those who follow their favourite portal will remember that we had informed them that Akshay defied cricket yet again with Sajid Khan's HOUSEFULL 2, which released during the highly popular Indian Premier League (IPL) matches, emerging a centurion super duper hit.
As may be recalled, way back in 2007, Akshay's NAMASTEY LONDON too turned out to be a sleeper hit, even though it released during the ICC World Cup matches.
Akshay Kumar has now completed a hat-trick of successes with NAMASTEY LONDON, HOUSEFULL 2 and OMG OH MY GOD!, all releasing during International cricket frenzy, where India was one of the contenders.
