While talkie promo of GO GOA GONE had made an instant impression, the songs are further making inroads as far as visibility amongst the target audience (and beyond) is any indication. Since the film is being pitched as a zom-com entertainer by the makers, one can't discount the fact that it would have blood and gore forming a part it as well by virtue of its genre. So what should audience expect eventually?
'See, we have gone ahead and introduced zombies in the film. However we have also mixed it all with comedy and horror. Moreover, we haven't let our sight away from the fact that ultimately we are catering to the Indian audience. So even though blood and gore is an integral part of the zombie audience, as is the case with this genre of films coming from the West, we have kept it all to the bare minimum. We don't want audience to cringe at what plays on screens,'' says Kunal Khemu who has been associated with the film from its very inception.
Produced by Saif Ali Khan, Dinesh Vijan and Sunil Lulla, the film is expected to find a newer audience for itself as well; the kind which hasn't been exposed to this genre yet.
'Yes, that's true,'' adds Vir Das, 'This means that while as a zombie fan you won't be disappointed with what plays on screen, even if you are not a fan then you would like it add this genre into your repertoire after watching the film.'
Further confidence for the youngsters comes from the fact that as a team, Saif, Dinesh and Sunil managed to score quite well with COCKTAIL last year. Now with the coming together of the trio for GO GOA GONE, the film is already fetching some good eyeballs.
'Exactly,'' says Kunal, 'I am happy that these people have backed a film which no one would have bothered touching. The kind of promotion that our film is getting is terrific. I am quite confident of a good release and commercial response now.'
