Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone and now Esha Gupta – What’s the common factor amongst these three stunning beauties? Well, other than the fact that they have been known for their good looks, they have also featured in a Prakash Jha film RAAJNEETI, AARAKSHAN, CHAKRAVYUH Most importantly though, each of them had to leave her make up kit back home before reporting for the film’s shoot. Reason being that Jha likes his leading ladies to be as much into the character as possible which means anything that starts becoming ‘needlessly’ glamorous is shunned.

”That’s because when I finalise someone, I see him or her as an actor and not someone who would help me sell glamour,” says Jha who has been winning good acclaim and accolades for his issue based hard hitting films that have more often than not worked critically as well as commercially, ”Jab main ek actor ko dekhta hoon toh usme glamour nahi dhoondta; I see whether her physicality and face suit the part or not. I have to see a character first and then everything else comes. I cast someone purely based on my instinct.”

No wonder, even when ex-Miss India Esha Gupta came on scene, she had to leave behind all the glamour she had just got used to in films like RAAZ 3 and JANNAT 2.

CHECK OUT: Prakash Jha – Have added dramatics to the basic plot of CHAKRAVYUH

”She is playing a cop and so is Arjun Rampal, who is her husband in the film. They are characters, not hero or heroine in the film. I want them to live that part. Esha understood that as well and you would see a different side of hers in the film,” says Jha who has also roped in another leading lady, Anjali Patil, in the film.

As for the glamour quotient, there is Sameera Reddy for an item number ‘Kunda Khol’.
