Priyanka-Farhan’s SKY in the red, Hrithik-Tiger’s WAR yields 225 crore plus!

The premier new release of the week, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim venture, THE SKY IS PINK, opened to a dull 10-15 percent start, which is not unexpected nor bad in the wake of WAR!

Had the film not released so close to WAR, maybe it would have fared better than the 3 crore estimated first day. But that is a hypothetical speculation and the fact of the matter is that all is not lost  for SKY IS PINK and it can still make amends during the remaining days of the weekend.

Meanwhile, the show was dominated by the still hot  Yash Raj Films’  Siddharth Anand directed,  Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, and Vani Kapoor starrer WAR,  which built up beautifully on a stupendous start, netting in excess of 225 crore during the 9-day extended opening.

WAR is sure to end up as a super hit, despite it’s heavy involved costs and it will be interesting to see how close it gets to the 300 crore mark. WAR is also rocking the overseas grossing $2,675,000 just from the US, if we count Wednesday collections!
