Ranbir ‘Barfi’ Kapoor turns 30

Actor Ranbir Kapoor, who has received immense appreciation for his performance in recently released film BARFI!, turned 30 on Friday.

In fact the latest song promo of Pritam's highly romantic 'Chup Chup Ke', which features music's lucky mascot Emraan Hashmi and the porcelain beauty Sagarika Ghatge, show that the music of RUSH has the Emraan Hashmi stamp and will surely be on everyone's lips soon enough.

When we had last spoken to Sagarika she had told us, "Shamin's RUSH is ten years ahead of its time," and seeing the promos and especially the song promo we now agree with Sagarika wholeheartedly.

To know more about her role in the film we got in contact with the royal lineage actress, Sagarika, and she briefed us saying, "I play an artist in the film and I am Emraan's wife and love interest in RUSH." Without revealing the details of the plot she said, "It's because of Emraan and what his character is up to/ his acts that I get into trouble in the film."

For all the fans of Emraan we have good news that RUSH is now complete and all set to hit the screens on 26th October 2012.

Bollywood actor Dia Mirza wished Ranbir and tweeted: 'Happy Birthday to our Darling 'Barfi' Ranbir Kapoor!!! We love you!!!'

ilmmaker Karan Johar wished the ROCKSTAR actor and tweeted: 'Wishing the super talented Ranbir Kapoor a very happy birthday!!! More power to him!!'

Ranbir is the grandson of legendary actor and filmmaker Raj Kapoor and son of actor Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh.

BARFI!, which has received mixed response from critics but touched the hearts of movie goers at large, has also been selected as India's official entry for the Oscars 'Best Foreign Language Film' category.

Ranbir had started his career as an assistant director under Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

He made his acting debut with the film SAAWARIYA.

The film was not successful at the box office but Ranbir won the Filmfare Award in the category of 'Best Male Debut'.

After SAAWARIYA, the actor was seen playing different kinds of characters in films like BACHNA AE HASEENO, WAKE UP SID, AJAB PREM KI GHAZAB KAHANI, and ROCKET SINGH – SALESMAN OF THE YEAR.

In Ayan Mukerji's WAKE UP SID, he portrayed the character of 'Siddharth Mehra', a happy-go-lucky and self-centered college student from Mumbai with the talented Konkona Sen Sharma in the female lead.

Indian movie buffs saw Ranbir playing a serious character in director Prakash Jha's political thriller RAAJNEETI.

Both critics and audience appreciated him for playing the character of 'Samar Pratap' in the film.

He also starred in Imtiaz Ali's ROCKSTAR, which earned him his very first Filmfare Award in the category of 'Best Actor'.

Ranbir will be next seen in Ayan Mukerji's YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANIopposite ex-flame Deepika Padukone. The film is likely to hit theaters next year.
