Randeep Hooda on Sunday said he feels that as the country got its woman defence minister as Nirmala Sitharaman it reflected as one of the biggest signs of 'Women Empowerment' in any country especially in a country like India.
"A woman #Defence minister is one of the biggest signs of #womenempowerment in any country #NirmalaSitharaman #cabinetreshuffle," Hooda posted on a micro-blogging site.
In the newly formed Council of Ministers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has chosen Nirmala Sitharaman as the new Defence Minister while Piyush Goyal will be the new Railways Minister after a Cabinet reshuffle on Sunday, which witnessed the induction of nine new faces.
On Sunday, President Ram Nath Kovind, as advised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, administered the swearing-in-ceremony of nine new ministers.
The four ministers, who were elevated to the Cabinet rank, are-Nirmala Sitharaman, Piyush Goyal, Dharmendra Pradhan and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.
Nirmala Sitharaman will now head the Defence Ministry. Sitharaman is the first woman full-time Defence Minister of the country as Indira Gandhi had held the department when she was Prime Minister for a very short period of time.
We totally agree with Randeep and are eagerly looking forward to Nirmala’s stint as the first full-time Defence Minister of our country.
