The major release of the week, YRF’s Rani Mukerji starrer HICHKI, started on a slow note (15 percent), but the film did show a small pick up towards the latter shows, at good cinemas of ‘A’ cities.
While all that is about the start and culmination of the opening day, the film is expected to be in the 3-4 crore range, a satisfactory outcome. And despite the start, the well made HICHKI has decent chances of scoring during the opening weekend, as it is not a very expensive project.
The other prominent release of the week, Manish Paul’s BAA BAA BLACK SHEEP could not make much of a mark at the ticket window.
Meanwhile, the prominent release last week, Raj Kumar Gupta’s Ajay Devgn, Saurabh Shukla and Ileana D’Cruz starrer, RAID, managed a good show, despite a not so great opening day, thanks to a good weekend and steady weekdays. The film has netted in the 60-61 crore range and is sure to end up as a successful venture.
Concluding yet again with SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY, the film added another 7 crore thus netting 96 crore (to be validated) in four weeks from India and is a super duper hit.
