Ranveer Singh was expressly thrilled. And rightfully so. He bagged the distinction of filming abroad for the very first time with GUNDAY.
''After doing four films, I managed to get the chance to shoot abroad for the very first time,'' gushes Ranveer. ''It was my first international shoot and we filmed the song 'Jiya' at Oman. Who knew that Oman had such wonderful landscapes!. 'Jiya' is a typical romantic song… the hero is wearing a mulmul shirt and the heroine is in a flowing outfit. It's a typical dream sequence song, that's happening in the mind of Bala, who's basically flipped his lid at that time.''
Priyanka Chopra, actress-cum-songstress, delineates 'Jiya' as an ''ethereal'' number. Elaborating on the filming, she states, ''We have a basic culture of unrealistic lifts and clothes, dynamics, love, passion and so much more,'' gushes Priyanka. ''We shot in the midst of expansive landscapes, mountains, lakes and visually, it's stunning.''
Ranveer Singh, fresh after having recovered from a bout of dengue, was required to be in the throes of lyrical 'Jiya' passion. ''I just had four injuries on this film and I was being all careful,'' says Ranveer,'' And then, there was Priyanka asking me to just hurry up, and get on with the song!''
Priyanka also hastens to add that she feared slipping and falling during the canning of 'Jiya'… and her dread manifested itself, albeit mildly. ''Ranveer and I were filming 'Jiya' and I slipped…but I fell down very slowly on Ranveer.''
''The landscapes, the costumes we were wearing and the way it has been captured, 'Jiya' looks like a dream,'' raves Ranveer. A dream come true, that is.
