SUPER NANI, which is the comeback film of Rekha, has been pushed ahead by at least a month. Originally slated to arrive on 1st May, the film is now expected to release in the latter half of June. The move has been made in light of the current election season which has resulted in quite a few films opting for a later date.

After quite some deliberation, the makers had earlier opted for 1st May as they wanted to arrive post the examination season. However the election itinerary threw a spanner in their plans, just like it did for so many other filmmakers. No one would really like to come in the midst of a season when the biggest entertainment is expected to be voting and the subsequent outcome.
Director Indra Kumar, who has produced the film along with his long standing partner Ashok Thakeria, felt that it was in best interest of everyone to hold on for a while than arrive right in the middle of elections.
SUPER NANI, as the name suggests, has Rekha playing a grandmother to Sharman Joshi who inspires her to turn ultra-glamorous and transform into a Diva, despite being in the late 50s.
When contacted, Indra Kumar confirmed that the film has been moved ahead owing to elections and would now release in June. Its first look is expected to be out in the second half of May.
