In the recent past, films with female leads like MARY KOM, PIKU and TANU WEDS MANU RETURNS have done well. Richa Chadha, who is known to play some powerful characters in films like FUKREY and GANGS OF WASSEYPUR (1 & 2), feels that gradually female actresses are being given the same importance as their male counterparts.
Ask the actress if female actresses are giving the Khans a run for their money and she says, “I think the Khans have conquered the box office since many 20-25 years now. It’s not about competing but I want even our actresses to get the importance that male actors get. It’s happening now. There will be a stage when everything will be balanced. No one will say that a film is male oriented or female oriented. People will just talk about the film.”
Richa will next be seen in Neeraj Ghaywan’s MASAAN, which is scheduled to release on July 24.
