RUSH: Emraan Hashmi set for a solo hat-trick!

Very much like the reigning number one hero and box-office favourite, Salman Khan (though he has miles to go before touching him!), Emraan Hashmi belongs to those rare breed of actors whose name commands a good initial, resulting in his solo films opening well at the ticket window.

The year 2012 has been especially very good for Emraan with both his solo films, JANNAT 2 and RAAZ 3 succeeding at the ticket window. While JANNAT 2 was declared a hit, his latest release, Vikram Bhatt's RAAZ 3, went on to be Emraan's first blockbuster, and even Salman was all praise for Emraan owing to his box office prowess.

Although in between Emraan did star in Dibakar Banerjee's SHANGHAI, which did not do as well as expected but then it also starred Abhay Deol in the lead role as well and credit does go to Emraan for giving Dibakar the biggest (collection wise) film of his career, as SHANGHAI netted 23 crore just from India.

With a blockbuster like RAAZ 3 behind him, there are high hopes from Emraan's upcoming release, RUSH, where Emraan essays the role of a crime reporter and there is also murder and suspense element in the late Shamin Desai directed venture, which was earlier titled RAFTAAR 24X 7 . And this is certainly a genre in which the audience has accepted Emraan Hashmi with open arms.

With music's very own lucky mascot Emraan Hashmi the face behind countless chartbusters, naturally the music of RUSH by Pritam is also turning out to be quite popular and there is a promotional music video of the song, "Dil Toh Hai Fukraa" (featuring Emraan and Neha Dhupia) which is being aired on many television channels in bid to promote the audio album.

As is evident from the trailers, the film has a good story, a tight script and actress and Emraan's co-star Sagarika Ghatge confirmed the above saying, "It is very topical subject." In fact we had informed our patrons about Sagarika's opinion that the director, late Shamin Desai had shot the film ten years ahead of its time.

Well, RUSH does remind one of Emraan's very own hit ZEHER, and we hope for the sake of all connected with the film that RUSH does turn out to be a super success, just like ZEHER!
