Two years after the roaring success of DELHI BELLY, Vir Das is back in a multi starcast affair. With GO GOA GONE appearing to be one trippy outing that should well be on the radar of those looking forward to entertainment in a different shape and format, everyone involved with it is pretty much convinced (and rightly so) that the film would well turn out to be a winner. No wonder, with all the hype being generated for the film, Vir feels that a lot of credit should be reserved for the makers who had faith in pulling this one off.
‘GO GOA GONE is the result of a collection of people who wanted to do this film. We all made it as a passion project. Of course Raj and Krishna, the directors, have made sure to make a good film. However the promotion, marketing and release have to be even better than the film. This is where our producers come in. They have made sure that GO GOA GONE turns out to be the talk of the town. It is gladdening to see the film turning out to be superhot even though we are still three weeks away,’ says Vir.
Produced by Saif Ali Khan, Dinesh Vijan and Sunil Lulla, the ball started rolling once Kunal Khemu brainstormed with Raj and DK to make something unique with zombies stepping into this thrilling comedy. Once Saif came on board, there was no looking back.

‘And to think of it, Saif is a superstar. He didn’t have to do this film. Even after working on it in the capacity of an actor and a producer, he is spending so many days for the film’s promotion and marketing as well. He is someone who can play a superstar all his life but still, he took GO GOA GONE under his wings. It is a privilege that all of us are today enjoying,’ says Vir.
Guess it’s the product that is allowing the makers do all the talking. With the results not being far away (the film releases on 10th May), it would be worthwhile to see that everyone’s interest and inclination in the film indeed pays off.
