While JAI HO and 2 STATES have already entered the 100 crore club, HOLIDAY is all set to make an entry as well this week. None of these biggies has been a comedy though and now at the peak of Summer, HUMSHAKALS is the biggest comedy to hit the screens. While one waits to see the kind of distance that this biggie by Sajid Khan covers, the filmmakers promises that just like his earlier ventures, even HUMSHAKALS has been designed and presented as a clean family entertainer.

‘One thing that I have always maintained right from my HEYY BABYY days is that I would never ever incorporate crass in my humor,’ says Sajid who went on to direct two comedies, HOUSEFULL and HOUSEFULL 2, after HEYY BABYY, ‘I can never have vulgar and double meaning dialogues or jokes in my films as I myself do not enjoy them. If I am so much wary of that, how I can do that to my audience? I don’t think it’s fair. I want people to know that if my name is associated with a film, audience won’t be disappointed to take their kids along.’
He doesn’t deny though that the film would have over the top humor with slapstick elements in there as well, something which has its loyal set of audience across the country, be it major cities or the interiors.

”HUMSHAKALS is by far my largest attempt of being completely unabashed in the zone of comedy,’ he smiles, ‘I am going back to my television comedy hosting days and keeping that kind of slapstick and over the top humor in mind. If you liked HOUSEFULL and HOUSEFULL 2, you would be all the more entertained with HUMSHAKALS.’
One looks forward to that once this Vashu Bhagnani and Fox production releases all over this Friday, 20th June, 2014.
