Filmmaker Sajid Khan blamed himself for the failure of his last venture HIMMATWALA starring Ajay Devgn and Tamannaah, at the box-office.

”You are looking at two different people now. Earlier, I was fat, arrogant, stupid and made tall claims and that is why HIMMATWALA faced mediclaim,” quipped Khan.

He also confessed that he had lost it completely and it was his desperation and the need to be respected and recognized as a serious filmmaker that made him make such tall claims.

”I was very unfunny and arrogant. I had lost it completely. Host and dost was too much in me. When HOUSEFULL worked I was like people should take me seriously now as a filmmaker, then HOUSEFULL 2 also did well. So I was like I can never go wrong. I wanted to grab media and tell them that I’m a good filmmaker and take me seriously,” accepted Sajid.

When asked about the expectation he has from his upcoming film HUMSHAKALS at the box-office, Sajid replied, ”I don’t want to talk about figures, I am a filmmaker and not a box office person. In the past, of course I used to boast about myself and my films record. But now I have realized my mistake.”

Meanwhile, HUMSHAKALS, presented by Fox Star Studios and produced by Vashu Bhagnani, stars Saif Ali Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Bipasha Basu, Tamannaah, Esha Gupta and Ram Kapoor in the lead and is slated to release on June 20, 2014.
