Sajid Khan’s HIMMATWALA to have five superstars from regional cinema

Filmmaker Sajid Khan’s love for his much touted film HIMMATWALA, starring Ajay Devgn & Tamannaah, is quite palpable with the way he is treating the film. Since Sajid is highly fond of 1983 HIMMATWALA, he wants his HIMMATWALA to be no less and can match the level of original version in every sense. Be it action, entertainment, drama or dance Sajid is leaving no stone unturned to recreate the 80s magic. So much so that he made Ajay loose his two left feet and jig like a true-blue dancer!

While Ajay still admits being a non-dancer and dance stresses him out, Sajid feels he can just light the screen when he dances. ”It is not true. He just says that dancing stresses him out. When he dances he lights the screen,” said Sajid at the recently held HIMMATWALA trailer launch event.

To make the choreography look outstanding, for the first time Sajid has brought multiple choreographers for his film.

”HIMMATWALA is my first film where I have multiple choreographers – Farah Khan (two songs), Ganesh Acharya (two songs) Chinni Prakash (one song) and trust me all of them have nice things to say about Ajay’s dance,” said Sajid.

Unlike other filmmakers, Sajid’s films are not packaged with special item numbers. However, his HIMMATWALA will see Sonakshi Sinha performing a special disco number.

When asked about having a special song in the film, Sajid at once replied, ”I don’t call it an item number. Item numbers are put usually when the film is dry. This song is technically part of the story as I have shown Mumbai in 1983. The song ‘Thank God its Friday’, which is in English & hindi, actually introduces the film. Sonakshi has done wonderful job.”

Sajid has even gone ahead and roped in superstars of regional cinema, who will be seen shaking legs with Ajay in one of the songs

”Yes I have one song in the film which is again part of the film where Ajay will be seen shaking legs with five reigning superstars from regional cinema. I have got Sayantani Ghosh from Bengali Cinema, Rinku Ghosh from Bhojpuri cinema, Amruta Khanvilkar from Marathi cinema, Surveen Chwala from Punjabi Cinema and Mona Tripha from Gujarati Cinema,” said an enthusiastic Sajid.

Jointly produced by UTV Motion Pictures & Vashu Bhagnani’s Puja Films, HIMMATWALA is all set to hit the screens on March 29, 2013.
