The First Look of KICK has created a stir! The audience, trade and industry have stood up and noticed the Salman Khan starrer in a major way. And one man who can already be seen smiling from ear to ear is Sajid Nadiadwala.

“By the look of things, he seems to have made a smooth transition from being a producer to a director. One can’t remember when was the last time when someone with over 20 years of experience as a producer had turned director and that too in such a major way. However, KICK pretty much showcases the fact that Sajid is making it all count,” says a fellow filmmaker.

For Sajid, who shares a great professional and personal relationship with Salman for years, the first milestone is to emerge as a debutant director with the biggest grosser ever.

Currently the record is held by Arbaaz Khan who brought home 155 crore with DABANGG 2. That was his debut too as a director and the record is unparalleled so far. Incidentally that film too had Salman in the lead. Now if KICK’s first Look is any indication, this record should be surpassed.

However, given the expectations this biggie carries, 150 crore odd is not the eventual milestone that Sajid would be aiming for. With talks of 200 crore and more emerging amongst the bigwigs of the trade, one looks forward to the kind of high Sajid eventually achieves with KICK which is Salman’s first Eid release two years after EK THA TIGER. Incidentally, that film had stopped just short of 200 crore by bringing in 199 crore.
