With the number of films releasing every week, the competition ought to intensify. But Salman Khan, whose film BAJRANGI BHIAJAAN is releasing tomorrow, feels that if there is a positive word-of-mouth, they need not worry about anything.

What do you make of a love story comprising a liar, a cop, two runaway circus kids, a guy called chai, a man resolved on suicide, another willing to help him in lieu of money, a bunch of pigeons who occasionally feel the need to break into song & dance and a lonely crow with an identity crisis? At the farthest end of a deserted railway station a young man spins a story for his love. The story turns into its own raconteur and becomes a testimony of all those moments in life that we like to think of as quirky … the odd broken pieces that never quite fit into the jigsaw puzzle, but are nonetheless preserved, in case someday we find a gap for them. Can all these sundry characters make a love story? Without love? And can it have a happy ending? They say it is possible. They say… Aisa kehte hain…
BAHUBALI which release last week has been doing well. When further probed him if these films will eat into the business of BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN, he said, “It will, but it depends on the film as well. If the word-of-mouth is good and people like the film, then we don’t have anything to worry about.”
BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN will be releasing in Pakistan too, but Mahira Khan’s film, BIN ROYE which is a Pakistani film, reportedly, will not be releasing in Maharashtra. When asked the makers of BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN about it, director Kabir Khan said, “It’s not that the Government of India has objected to that film. So there is no point in equating the two about the Government of Pakistan allowing BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN to release there.”
When asked Salman about his views, he said, “My view is that the film should be released everywhere.”
He added, “BAJRANGI has got a U certificate in Pakistan & out here (India) we’ve got a U/A.”
Movies are made for the audience and their entertainment. Like all other films, we hope that if BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN is good, it should do well everywhere.
