Even a movie on PM’s good social cause like ‘Swachh Bharat’ is not spared under the axe of CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani.
A close source informs that the highly awaited TOILET: EK PREM KATHA starring the current silver screen idol of patriotisms Akshay Kumar in lead along with Bhumi Pednekar has come under CBFC scanner.
Though the most awaited Independence week release has been passed with a U/A certificate but before that it was pulled for obscenity and 3 verbal cuts were demanded. However, the cuts seem a bit stretched as we hear Akshay Kumar’s comment on the same reported in IANS.
The actor was responding to the alleged reports of 8 cuts to the film, Akshay clarified by saying, “I have read news that the film has got eight or nine cuts from the censor board, but this is wrong. We have got three verbal cuts in the film. I remember one of the cuts clearly. They asked us to remove the word 'h*r**mi' and there two more verbal cuts. I don't know from where this news comes that the film has got 8 cuts. I was surprised myself," the actor was quoted by the agency.
Earlier, news of CBFC objecting to the word ‘saand’ (bull) and a peeing scene were floating in certain section of the media.
It is strange that a movie supporting PM social cause like ‘Swachh Bharat’ gets shockingly pulled by CBFC for obscenity.
