Akshay Kumar had a spectacular 2012 with movies that were great hits at the box-office like HOUSEFULL 2, ROWDY RATHORE, OMG:OH MY GOD!, and KHILADI 786.
This year Akshay has decided to make it even bigger as the actor has signed two big films this year, SPECIAL 26 and ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI 2. And SPECIAL 26, where Akshay is playing the lead role, is his big release as it is the only movie he will be appearing in, in the first half of the year.
A spokesperson of SPECIAL 26 confirms, ''Akshay Kumar is very excited about the film. It's his first release this year.''
SPECIAL 26 is based on the real-life daring heist in 1987, where an unknown man posing as 'fake CBI officer Mon Singh' recruited 26 men and executed a daylight raid all over India.
Akshay Kumar's role is on the lines of Mon Singh, the fake CBI agent.
The movie has a proficient cast, like Akshay Kumar, Jimmy Shergill, Manoj Bajpai, Anupam Kher, Divya Dutta and the Telugu star & SINGHAM fame Kajal Aggarwal in pivotal roles.
SPECIAL 26, directed by Neeraj Pandey, is set to release on 8th February 2013.
