More than 20 years after Madhuri Dixit made waves with 'Choli Ke Peeche' [KHALNAYAK – 1993], filmmaker Subhash Ghai is now bringing the catch-line, albeit in a different avatar. For his upcoming film KAANCHI, there is a song that goes as, hold your breath, 'Kambal Ke Neeche'.
'It is a fun number with a slight naughty element to it as well,' informs our source, 'It doesn't go all the way like it was the case with 'Choli Ke Peeche'. However if one hears it closely, the mixing of various lines with 'Kambal Ke Neeche' coming towards the end of each one of them could indeed raise a few eyebrows.'
While Ila Arun and Alka Yagnik had rendered 'Choli Ke Peeche' which had found itself in the middle of controversies back then in the 90s, before finding itself in the list of practically every award function, relatively new singers in the form of Neeti Mohan, Sanchita Bhattachayra, Aishwarya Majmudar and Aman Trikha have been roped in for 'Kambal Ke Neeche'.
Well, this isn't all as Subhash Ghai has brought in lyrics from quite a few of his other chartbusters as well and interspersed them with 'Kambal Ke Neeche'. This is the reason why one hears 'Do Dil Mil Rahe Hain' [PARDES], 'Nayak Nahi Khalnayak Hoon Mein' [KHALNAYAK], 'Ramta Jogi' [TAAL], 'Yeh Dil Deewana' [PARDES] and 'Jab Dil Mile' [YAADEIN] in the song as well. This is perhaps the first time ever when a filmmaker has brought in his own songs from the past and put them all together under a single head.
Now one waits to see how does it all translate on-screen!
