Being present in the industry for more than two decades, Bollywood star Suniel Shetty is not only known as good actor but he is also regarded for having built a strong reputation. And now that his daughter Athiya Shetty is all set to step her foot in the ocean-like film industry with debut film HERO (remake of Subhash Ghai’s Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Sheshadri starrer), it’s well expected that Suniel must be guiding her moves meticulously.

But Anna (as he is fondly referred) is rather relaxed. Why? Well, he is relaxed because Salman has taken Athiya under his wings.

“What will I guide her? In fact she guides me. Aajkal Ke Bacche Aise Hote Haine Woh Humse Ek Kadam Aagey Hote (Today’s generation is way ahead of us). I don’t need to do that when she is being launched by Salman Khan Production, Salman is grooming her, she is surrounded by good co-stars, Athiya has Reshma (Salman’s manager) who is handling everything for her. So, everyone is taking good care of Athiya. She doesn’t need to be scared,” says Suniel.

One might feel that being a star daughter Athiya has all the advantages to succeed. But the ethical father, that Suniel is, wants Athiya to make her own mark.

Suniel says, “Though I am experienced and generated enough goodwill being in the industry, at the end of the day she has to prove her own mettle. I would rather like that she establishes herself as a good actor than simply turning a star overnight.”

The proud dad Suniel, who has already seen the movie (HERO), is all praise for Athiya’s work. “Whatever work I have seen of hers, I believe she has done brilliant job. I have seen the film and I think she will truly rock. Her dialogue delivery and performance is good. And I am not saying it from a father’s point of view. Once the film releases everyone will witness it too,” he says.

Well, Suniel we are sure with your kind of values, Athiya will go places!
