The ’83 makers wont be able to do this now!?

About two weeks back, the makers of the cricket based movie ’83 starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role of Kapil Dev, had revealed their intent of making a movie on the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup if India would win the coveted title. Alas, the dreams stand shattered as India lost to New Zealand by 18 runs.

The Indian team stood tall at the top of the table and the Indian population was praying for the Indian team but the initial couple of overs almost sealed the fate (of losing). However, it was M S Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja who tried to pull the wrecked ship to the shores but the last nail in the coffin was M S Dhoni’s dismissal… and all fall down.

The whole Nation was and is still in a state of shock and now there would be umpteen theories describing the fate. However, coming back to Bollywood, here the theory seems pretty clear that now the makers will have to satisfy their luck with just ’83.

Tracing the historic victory of 1983 world cup, Kabir Khan's upcoming directorial ’83 is being presented by Anil Dhirubhai Ambani’s Reliance Entertainment and will star Ranveer Singh as the former captain of the Indian Cricket Team Kapil Dev and Deepika Padukone as Kapil Dev’s wife. The film '83 would be the first-ever trilingual release for both, Ranveer Singh and director Kabir Khan in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Touted to be the biggest sports film of all times, ‘83 is being co-produced by Madhu Mantena, Sajid Nadiadwala and Reliance Entertainment. The movie is slated to hit the screens on 10 April, 2020.
