The legendary tune of Subhash Ghai and Jackie Shroff's 'whistle' has done the trick, what with Tiger Shroff taking it forward three decades later with HEROPANTI. If the very sound of the whistle was addictive enough, newcomer Tiger along with Bollywood debutant Kriti Sanon have made sure that their dance moves make an instant impression as well.
Though time and again one sees a romantic number kick-starting the promotion of a film which stars absolute newcomers, producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director Sabbir Khan have gone against the tide to begin it all with 'Whistle Baja' which is as foot tapping as it gets. Also, unlike a tapori beginning that one expected from the song, what one gets to see and hear is a club outing with some bhangra beats that makes one instantly hit the floors.
With Manj and Nindy Kaur along with Raftaar getting it right with the music, lyrics and vocals, the stage was set for Tiger and Kriti to bring on a visual quotient too. Thankfully, they get it right with some cool dance moves and signature steps making a worthy impression. While one had known all along that Tiger is a worthy dancer, a real surprise turns out to be Kriti who comes across as supremely confident in front of the camera and is extremely photogenic. Moreover, with the duo bringing on the much required energy, as is the mandate for a debut outing, one can well see HEROPANTI on the right track.
'I trusted Tiger and Kriti to deliver goods and I am glad that the results are there for all to be seen,' says Sajid who is currently shooting KICK with Salman Khan, 'Both these youngsters are bundle of energy and my team gave them a song which was just perfect to mark their introduction in front of the audience. I am sure they would take forward the momentum from this point on.'
With 'Whistle Baja'all set to enter the clubs and discotheques, one waits to see what next is in the pipeline for Sajid and Sabbir to unveil en route to the film's release on 23rd May.
