She has now touched upon history of India and made a film on the partition of India, which is definitely one of the most talked about and controversial moments in the history of both India and Pakistan.
As the nation split into two, millions of families were displaced and many more lost everything they had. Hatred from that partition still runs deep between the two countries and we're yet to get over this landmark decision and rightfully so.
Titled PARTITION: 1947,Gurinder Chadha talks about tales of how one country gets divided into two, wherein love bloomed, a couple is unaware of their future and is torn between the country they will belong to.
The film also takes a detailed look at all the politics that resulted in the division and promises to bring out untold facets of this monumental decision.
The film stars Huma Qureshi as a Muslim girl battling out to find her way and Om Puri in pivotal roles among other Hugh Bonneville, Gillian Anderson and Manish Dayal among others.
